Guards are the pillars of our colonies. Not only do they handle security but their portfolios are vast from catching thieves or dealing with drug addicts, controlling fires, picking up fallen trees, building of a road, removing encroachments, managing traffic. Believe me they are into everything.
Riding their cycles throughout day and night these twenty-two of our soldiers / jawans are working tirelessly for the colony.
In the heat or severe cold or rains, donning their jackets with whistle blowing loud they go around the colony. Sometimes residents complain about their whistling, which personally we take it as a complement showing the efficiency of the guards.
I have been at times told that I have vested interest in the security
And
I don’t deny it. My VESTED interest are these 22 guards who for the past 8 months never let me down and have always made me proud of them. With the help of my seniors, we have also made them exclusive by providing them a new uniform.
We have made them feel wanted with each of our committee members attending there briefing every day. We have stood with them in traffic management.
Their salaries are given to them according to the minimum wages laid down by labour law.
As they say to earn their respect you have to respect them as well.
And that is what we do.
Lastly, our guards are among the best is Delhi and colonies like JORBAGH have hired them recently seeing the working in our Colony. Jorbagh was having non-compliant guards (their requirement is only 8 guards as compared to our 22 guards) but since as per minimum wage norms the hired the agency which provides us guards.
