After a gap of three years, Meghdutam Rangmanch resumed its cultural activities by organizing the ‘Music in the Park’ at Meghdutam Park’s amphitheatre on Sun-day, 16 October. The re-
sponse from both musicians as well as the audience was good. Musicians were keen to perform live on stage; the audience was hungry for a live performance, after a long dry spell limited to online interaction due to the pandemic.
The following musicians performed on Sunday evening: Divya Mehta (Mahagun Manor) Aaiye Meharbaan, Gagan Sharma (Amrapali Silicon City) Pehla Nasha, Kriti Pallavi (Manor) Kaisi Paheli Zindagani, Pankaj Sharma (Meghdutam) Baanvara Man, Suman Jha (ASC) Chhat Dhun in Raga Yaman on the flute, Mridusmita Mandal (Overseas) Dikhaye diye yun, Sanjeev Kumar (Alok Vihar 2), Neeta Tambe (Maestro) Saavan Ka Maheena on the violin, Sarvesh Mehrotra (Antriksh Golf View, Sec 78) medley of songs, Pankaj and Ratna Sahasrabuddhe (ASC) Ye Raatein Ye, Namrata Tewari (Silver Estate) Banvara Man Dekhne Chala, Aditya Srivastava (Manor) Chura liya hai tumne jo dil ko on the mouth organ, Sarla Adhikari (Sec 41) Jogan ban jaongi, Kapil Pandey (Sharanam, Sec 107) Thak Se (folk song), Aadi Bani (Sharanam) Havayen and Pradeep Pallavi (Manor) Aye Bhai Zara Dekh Ko Chalo. The program concluded with all musicians singing together the foot-tapping Zindagi mil ke bitayenge (film Satte Pe Satta).
Pradeep Pallavi (Manor) compered the program with his usual wit and élan, maintaining the flow and compactness of the event with his fillers and stage management. He kept the audience engaged with stories behind the songs and humorous anecdotes.
This edition of Music in the Park was supported by Pushpa Narendra Foundation, a non-profit organization working towards providing education and skill-based training to underprivileged children and youth. The support was provided to promote community engagement and awareness amongst Noida residents regarding the foundation’s mission.
Up-coming Multi-event Meghdutam Annual Festival As in 2019, Meghdutam Rangmanch is organizing the Meghdutam Annual Festival in the end of November across four days on two weekends. Several apartments of F BLock have already come forward to support the Festival. Residents, families, friend groups, and organizations are welcome to support/ sponsor the Festival and its events in various ways, small or big. We are looking out for volunteers also.
