Municipal Elections Update

Municipal elections across Haryana are being held on 2nd of March. For Ward number 2, the seat is reserved for women candidates, and Jyotsana Yadav from DLF 2 is contesting on a BJP ticket against Kamlesh from Congress, Rimple Yadav, Dr. Tanu Yadav, and Pooja Yadav as independent candidates.  Posters, banners on poles, and key intersections across DLF 2, announcements on loudspeakers, and WhatsApp messages are making rounds in promoting each candidate.

On 28th February, a huge public meeting was held in K Block Community Centre, DLF 2, where  Rao Narbir Singh ji, Cabinet Minister, Haryana. Mukesh Sharma ji MLA (Vidhayak), Gurgaon, along with the husband of Raj Rani Malhotra, BJP candidate for mayor, graced the stage and addressed the public. Residents from Sarhaul and Dundahera were also present in good numbers.  Jyotsana Yadav, along with her husband, has been making rounds of all the areas, meeting people in the parks, going door to door, and volunteers are holding drawing room meetings, Gauri Shankar Mandir, Arya Samaj Mandir, party office, and morning walkers everywhere. Residents are being heard, and contestants are putting forward their manifestation. Soft calling on the phone, audio, and video messages by party volunteers are being forwarded. A breakfast meeting was held to introduce the Congress candidate.

Residents of  Condominiums of DLF 2 also had meetings with various contestants. The biggest challenge is to get the voters to come out and vote for a candidate on the 2nd of March. The voting is for the seat of the mayor as well. Each party wants candidates from the same party to be elected for both positions to be able to work in sync. By the time this circulates, the polls will have taken place. Results awaited for 12th of March.
