The Chaitra Navratri are named after vasant which means Spring. They are observed during the lunar month of Chaitra which falls in March – April. Bhandara are held during Navratri where food is cooked and served and everyone enjoys the Prasad as a community.
This year many bhandaras were held in DLF Phase 2. Spreading Smiles, an initiative being helped by Dr. Shashi Kochhar resident of K block, held a Bhandara at their centre in DLF 3. Nishwarth Sewa Foundation run by Sapna Sehrawat held a bandara outside her house with the collection contributed by residents. Bachpanshala in J block run by Nandita Chopra treated the kids with ice creams in the name of Kanjak Prasad.
The Central Arcade Market Association also held a bhandara at the market complex and Gauri Shankar Mandir held a bhandara on Hanuman Jayanti after SunderKand Path. A Bhandara was reported from Jacaranda Marg as well.
