“Holi Milan” which used to be a regular feature in our area for the past several decades was missed for the last three years due to the Covid pandemic.
The last celebration was held in 2020 & all the shackles were broken after that.
Residents were looking forward to this year’s celebrations quite eagerly. The “Holi Mlan” was planned & announced from 11 am onwards in the park. Many residents trooped in even ahead of time.
The RWA, as always, did not disappoint the residents. There were elaborate arrangements for entertainment, excellent thandai and lunch comprising chaat, dahi bhalla, poorie, kachori, subzi, allo subzi, pulao, cholle, saunth chutney, kulfi and hot jalebi.
A DJ played hit songs throughout the event. Many residents of all age groups danced till they were very tired.
All guests were welcomed with a shower of rose petals and mixed flower petals by members of the Managing & Cultural committee.
More than 800 people attended. This surpassed the RWA’s calculations catering to around 500. At one time drinking water fell short and team members pulled out bottles from their own homes and finally the Club came to their rescue. The caterer was forewarned and he did a great job of ensuring everybody had enough to eat.
Praise and accolades were received by the Managing Committee for hosting such a large and beautiful event.
