The onset of heavy monsoon rains have had a devastation effect on the roads leading to their sinking in. Lot of roads in Panchsheel Enclave had to face Nature’s fury. Some parts were sunk in and some had potholes due to waterlogging. The restoration and repair work has started. Lot of trees were uprooted and branches have fallen on the road. A lady doing Yoga in C Block Park escaped unhurt when a branch fell just behind her. Another lady slipped while walking on the slippery road but was saved from getting hurt. Proactive measures need to be taken for future to avoid public inconvenience and accidents.
Drainage systems must be improved and proper road construction material resistant to water damage must be used. It sounds like a tall order but the unprecedented monsoon has brought lot of challenges for the people for which we will have to gear up.
