The population of simians is on the rise and the entire area including Safdarjung Enclave, Green Park any SDA has been facing the onslaught of monkey attacks in their gardens and homes. These monkeys are very aggressive and are reported to have damaged many gardens and have entered the houses and attacked refrigerators which has sent a shock wave among residents. It seems like the result of deforestation of Sarojini Nagar, Netaji Nagar, Naurauji Nagar and Kidwai Nagar where thousands of trees have been cut to give way to new construction of housing projects . The habitat of animals and birds is lost so in search of food they are now attacking and entering residential colonies. It’s a wake up call for the Government to take remedial measures and bring in some urgent solutions else this is going to create a massive imbalance in the Ecology and Environment.
