The RWA is very disturbed that when residents rent out their property, they do not inform the RWA. The tenant invariably does not become a member of the Association and does not pay the annual subscription. Only when the tenant is in trouble and seeks RWA intervention that the RWA gets to know of his/her existence.
This is what happened on Sat 3rd Feb, in the evening. The tenant resident of House No. 37 FF (who is not a member of RWA or about whom the owner-resident did not inform the RWA either when his tenancy began or thereafter), sought the help of the patrol supervisor on duty to crack a case which had occurred two weeks earlier. Money was stolen from his residence by his maid Rani, who had left the employment on 19th January after the incident.
This information was passed on by the patrolling supervisor to the relieving patrol officer on the same day at 9:00 PM. When, luckily, the housemaid identified by her Gate-pass tried to enter the Sector through Gate No.1 at 1:20 PM the next day, thinking that the theft had gone unnoticed, the Gate security called the patrolling supervisor on duty. He made a thorough enquiry about the incident with her.
However, when her demeanour got suspicious, he called the police. They took her, along with the person who accompanied her, to the Police Station. When questioned, she confessed to have stolen Rs.40,000. The amount was recovered and returned to the tenant resident on Sunday itself, without an FIR with his consent.
