Govt. Servant’s Co-operative House Building Society (GSCHBS) hosted a spectacular ‘Mohammed Rafi Musical Night’ to a packed house at the Kalyan Kendra on July 27, 2024, to pay tribute to the legendary singer.
Mohammed Rafi was an iconic singer. He recorded as many as 7000 songs throughout his career, spanning several languages and dialects.
The evening commenced with the traditional ritual of lighting the lamp by Deepak Mishra, President, GSCHBS and VVC followed by the managing committee members.
Usha Gupta, Chairperson of the Events Committee, warmly welcomed Deepak Mishra and the audience. She expressed gratitude for the attendees’ presence and their shared love for the iconic singer. The program, conducted under the auspices of the Sanjay Musical Group, featured an array of talented male and female singers, supported by a vibrant sound and LED band. Their stellar performances brought Mohammed Rafi’s songs to life, captivating the audience and evoking memories of the golden era of Indian music.
Usha Gupta herself delivered a mesmerizing performance, winning the hearts of all present with her soulful rendition. The event’s energy was contagious, with spectators actively participating and enjoying the program.
The program was a resounding success, paying a fitting tribute to Rafi Sahab and reaffirming the Society’s commitment to fostering a sense of community and cultural appreciation.
