On 7th November around 8.45pm, a maid working in PHPC was walking back home outside the society on the main Mandir road, and talking to someone over the phone when 2 men on a bike came from behind and snatched her phone and took it away.
Because of the various construction sites in Wishtown, this road outside the Mandir/Sports Field has become unsafe for pedestrians and evening walkers. Even though a guard is patrolling the area for a few hours in the morning and evening time, outside the societies in front of the sports field, such incidents can still happen.
There is a need for all societies to create a more comprehensive security system that allows the guards to identify and avert such thefts.
Besides installing more CCTV cameras around this belt, one solution could be to have our society guards connected with all Wishtown entry and exit points through a common line so that in case of such an incident, all gates can be closed and culprits can be caught while trying to get out of Wishtown.
A hooter system is also under consideration where in case of any incident, our society guards can siren the hooters to inform the guards across Wishtown, especially at Entry Exit points.
Residents should also be given an SOS button and Phone number on their phone that they can use to directly connect with the main entry-exit points. Since the time frame for culprits to get away is so little, this system will help.
