Come election time, such meetings with political leaders & aspiring candidates for Assembly elections, which are scheduled for Feb 25, will be a regular feature.
Our RWA, being an absolutely non-political society, would welcome such interactive meetings at regular intervals.
The 1st in the series was held with our sitting MLA, Saurabh Bhardwaj, on Sunday, 24th Nov., in the lush green ECO Park in S Block.
The minister came exactly on time & addressed around 150 residents.
He highlighted his party’s vision document for Delhi in a short, brief speech.
Secretary SBWS highlighted the various jobs done by Saurabh ji in the last five years for the GK constituency & specifically in S Block. Some highlights:
Reconstruction of many inner roads. Construction of three gazebos, provision of play equipment & gym equipment, streetlights, boom barriers, speed breakers & a forty-thousand-liter capacity rainwater harvesting pit.
The secretary also pointed out many pending projects, which have to be taken up. Most important is the introduction of the Mohalla bus service, which should cater to the requirements of S Block residents to provide last- mile connectivity with the three or four nearby metro stations. He assured us to look into the various pending issues before the moral code of conduct is enforced.
A sumptuous spread of brunch comprising bedwi kachori, allo/sithaphal subzi, moong dal halwa, & masala tea was served by SBWS.
Overall, a good, fruitful interactive session.
