The Apex Senior Citizens Club transformed the 21 August 2024 into a heartwarming celebration for more than sixty senior citizens as they commemo-rated World Senior Citizens Day. The esteemed Chief Guest, Priti Srivastava, Founder of an NGO specializing in mental health, delivered an impassioned address on mental wellness and the current state of public awareness regarding mental health in India. With genuine concern, she shared invaluable insights on tackling mental stress, emphasizing the importance of companionship and the healing power of music. Her advice to stay active, engage with loved ones, and seek professional help resonated deeply with the audience. Priti Srivastava also underscored the urgent need to prioritize mental health, as neglecting it could lead to a global crisis. Adding to the event’s significance, the President, H C Malhotra, President of Collegium of Sr. Citizens Welfare Association, Noida and Gen. Secretary B S Sindhu, both accomplished in their respective fields, shed light on the challenges faced by senior citizens and the commendable initiatives aimed at their welfare. The heartwarming highlight of the day was the felicitation of three senior citizen couples and two remarkable residents aged 75 and above, by Chief Guest Priti Srivastava and H C Malhotra. These heartfelt recognitions were a testament to the indelible contributions of these individuals. Amidst the soul-stirring discussions, a soulful musical program took center stage, bringing smiles and joy to all present. Emerging singer Vinay Bhakt’s melodious renditions and professional singer Deepender Datt Sharma’s captivating ghazals filled the air with warmth and nostalgia. The celebration also extended to birthdays, with Rakesh Babbar (6 Aug, C-1602) and Anil Kapoor (19Aug, C-2502) receiving heartfelt wishes and gifts from the esteemed guests. Looking ahead to September 2024, the Apex Senior Citizens Club eagerly anticipates honoring the birthdays of Radha Chauhan (8th Sep. D-504), Sudhir Puri (18 Sept., B-202), Sadhna Aggarwal (19 Sept. ,F-2102), and commemorating the anniversary of Sarabjit Singh Harmeet Pahwa (7 Sept., B-802).
