Water meters are being installed in the sector. The process has started in all blocks of the sector, and several houses have been covered. On February 13, the RWCS President, Mr. Govind Sharma, posted a message saying that the water metre stock has been exhausted, the new supply shall come after Holi (i.e., the 8th of March), and that the remaining installations will be done in the next month. As of now, there are no installation fees to be paid. Noida Authority currently charges water bills on the basis of the size of the plot, which leads to the wastage of water by consumers. Much like electricity, water charges will be calculated on the basis of consumption, and the authority believes this will help curb water wastage while also increasing its revenue.
