The word Christmas invariably makes me hum “Jingle bells Jingle bells” and SRWA in Suncity not only made Santa Claus appear but also filled the environment with the Jingle bells.
A message was sent to all the groups that if the residents want to welcome Santa Claus in their house and gift the kids in their family then they should deposit the gifts in the SRWA office by a particular date. We all made sure that the gifts for our children and in my case grandchildren reached the office (well packed and well labelled) by the given date.
On 24th morning, the e-rickshaw was well decorated with balloons and a modern Santa Claus appeared in a red jeep. The air was echoing with the Jingle Bells song. Outside every house, in a very sweet voice, each child was called out by their name and told that Santa Claus was there with their gift. It would be impossible for me to describe the happiness I saw in both my grandsons’ faces as they rushed out to take their gifts. The joy at receiving the gifts and the awe at actually seeing the Santa Claus brought tears to my eyes.. and I have to thank SRWA for this thoughtful idea. But this carried on to the next day when Santa Claus went around Suncity giving sweets to the underprivileged children. This was such a wonderful and noble gesture. A special mention and a round of applause for Priyanka Komal Kanika and Swati must be made who worked hard to make this effort a success
I shifted to Suncity two years back and I thank God for bringing us here where every festival is made special and celebrated with much joy and happiness.
