On Saturday, 14 September, a talk on menopause was held at the Lotus Boulevard Clubhouse, organised by the NGO Soch, facilitated by Shilpi Shankar, a nutritionist and certified Menopause educator.
The session focused on the different stages of menopause—perimenopause, menopause, and post-menopause—and how to effectively manage the symptoms associated with each. Ms. Shankar emphasized the importance of lifestyle changes, including proper nutrition, regular exercise, and natural remedies, alongside medical interventions.
Ms. Shankar discussed how women can ease this transition with the help of support groups, ensuring they do not feel isolated in their journey. A key takeaway was the need to raise awareness about menopause as a natural transition in our life.
Ms. Shankar beautifully likened the process to a butterfly’s transformation, encouraging women to accept this phase with grace. With the right support and self-care, she assured that women can improve their quality of life during menopause and beyond, embracing the change as a new chapter of vitality.
