A meeting was held by our member of parliament at the NCUI building on 31st May. It was attended by representatives of all localities of the District, MCD, police and other government officials. From Defence Colony, Colonel Ajit Nagrani officiating Chairman Security Committee and Lalit Mittal Vice President Defence Colony C block Club, attended.
Several points pertaining to traffic, law and order, encroachment, MCD related etc were discussed. Colonel Ajit Nagrani raised a point of the colony’s security. With reference to the closing of colony gates and barricades, how best the High Court ruling in the matter be respected while keeping the security of colony.
Good news.
It was agreed in the meeting that police barricades may be used for INTERNAL ROADS in Defence Colony provided they are manned by the concerned locality’s security personnel.
This is in consonance with the court’s ruling.
Residents, this step will greatly enhance man-and-material security within the colony.
We are going to be saving on buying our own barricades, a considerable expenditure. In addition, as this security measure is approved and agreed by the MP, the police and the Defense Colony representatives, during the meeting on 31st May 2023, makes it official.
Otherwise, Defence Colony would have had to buy our own barricades.
So, all residents will shortly see internal roads barricaded.
