Creating Designs Out of Waste
Santosh Mago, a kind and imaginative woman who graduated from the esteemed IP college in Delhi, had no idea what the future held for her. After a few years of domesticated marriage, she used her artistic outlet to launch a clothing line made entirely in her own backyard. She spent 45 years dressing women, first at home, then in a factory unit, and then in a boutique. She had to close her doors in 2022 due to COVID, but she continued to work until the ripe age of 84. Her three daughters work in various artistic fields, such as interior design, wedding planning, and real estate. After 2022, Santosh struggled to keep herself busy and enrolled in an art institute to hone her painting abilities. She has developed into a fully realized artist today, and her home is filled with her creations. She likes to spend her free time having coffee and small talk with her group of friends, cultivating close friendships. Originally from Sargoda ( Pakistan ) then moved to Delhi . Graduate from IP college Delhi University and got married in 1960.
Creating designs out of waste, stitching always interested her and that’s how she got into the fashion industry. Numerous difficulties arose, including the little home-grown business, the demanding household with in-laws, three children, and her spouse. Those were difficult times for women to start their own businesses since they lacked the capital to do so, but her husband, who was employed by the UPSC, really encouraged her to launch this firm. They both launched it together once he voluntarily retired.
Came to H block in 2001 , was running her boutique till 2021, when Covid forced its closure. Following her passion for fine arts, she enrolled at an institution and has been studying and painting for the past two years.
