“The Open Atmosphere at My Sasural Was Awesome”
We at Samvada are pleased to share that starting from this month, we will try to highlight one new bride who got married to a Defence colony resident and experience the overall ambiance to share her own feedback, suggestion and ideas for us to make necessary changes and improvements.
This month we are sharing story of Dr. Sanchi Chhabra (Chaudhary) who is BDS, PG (cosmetic and Aesthetic Dentistry) and Ex. Senior Consultant, Max Hospital, Gurugram. Dr. Sanchi Chhabra is now a Chief Dental Surgeon and Founder of Free your Smile Dental Clinic. She Got married to Capt. Kenny Singh 6 years back and shares her own experience of our colony:
• It was a great change for me to shift from a Gurugram society to Defence colony after my marriage to coolest dude Kenny Singh who I was dating for few years. I used to visit Defence colony before marriage too but the real experience was when I permanently started living here. The open atmosphere at my “Sasural” was awesome as my father-In Law Capt. KPS Chaudhary and My mother-in-Law made it easy for me to settle down in few days itself. I was the Queen of the house with full attention given not only by the family but their friends and neighbours as well. As the family was quite social and popular in the colony, it was easy for me to know so many people whenever I visit the parks, the clubs and markets with my family.
• We used to have regular electricity issues in Gurugram but Defence colony was different with almost no outage seen even during the peak summer months. The water is much better than Gurugram as I started observing better skin in few months itself. Roads are not that good in the colony and need regular repairs to make it easy to drive and walk. The traffic is really bad in the colony as my patients keep telling me about the time taken to enter the colony to reach my clinic. Security is a big issue in the colony as compared to the gated societies in the NCR. I also faced an issue when I took my 2 yr old Yadvir Singh to the nearby park. I saw few young teenagers trying to pass abusive comments which were taken by my Hubby Kenny who came on time to tackle them. The parks are ventured by people from Kotla who use the swings, benches etc for hours and our kids don’t get chance to use them.
• Professionally I am really lucky to open my own clinic which is now flourishing with increasing number of clients each passing month. I am thankful to my family for their continued support and guidance for this grand success.
Lastly, to summarise I am thankful to God for creating space and love for me in this Elite and posh colony of South Delhi which has really made my transition smooth for my happy married life. I will keep continue my service for the residents of Def colony as a Dentist. Thanks to Ajay Kumar for his time and initiative for this much needed interaction.
