In the recently held Delhi Assembly elections, Anil Kumar Sharma of the BJP emerged victorious, defeating Pramila Tokas of the AAP by a substantial margin of 14453 votes.
A familiar face in Vasant Vihar, Anil Sharma has earlier served as a councillor, deputy mayor, member standing committee, SDMC, and member of the legislative assembly. During his brief tenure as a member of the legislative assembly in 2013, he resolved Vasant Vihar’s longstanding water supply issue, entirely through his efforts with Delhi Jal Board authorities.
He comes across as a man of action and has clearly articulated his commitment to all- round development of our colony. Given his track record and the prospect of double- engine governance in tandem with Bansuri Swaraj, MP, there is every assurance that the promises made by him during his election campaign will be translated into concrete initiatives and outcomes, resulting in requisite improvements in facilities and services in our area.
We congratulate Anil Sharma on his emphatic electoral victory and look forward to an eventful, highly effective, and successful tenure as MLA.
