Anika, a Class 8 student from Somerville School, is already making waves in the literary world with her debut book, Terror: Dark Shadows. Though only a few years into her writing journey, she has shown an impressive passion for storytelling.
Inspired by the horror movie The Conjuring, Anika set out to create something even more chilling, and she did just that with Terror: Dark Shadows.
Anika’s story writing began a couple of years ago when she first tried her hand at short stories. Driven by a fascination with supernatural tales, she drew further inspiration from Andrea Perron’s House of Darkness House of Light to craft her own haunting narrative.
With the encouragement of her parents and guidance from her mentor, Seema Ma’am, Anika completed her book in just over a month—a remarkable feat for such a young author.
Anika’s message to young readers and aspiring writers is simple yet powerful: “Write without fear of making mistakes.” She believes that only by embracing their mistakes can young writers truly grow and improve.
Anika’s words of wisdom and success at such a young age are sure to inspire many. Fans of her work eagerly await her next mystery adventure, set to be released next year. For her, this is just the beginning of an exciting literary journey.
