The significance of Mata ki Chowki lies in its ability to create a spiritual connection between the devotee and the divine. It is an occasion to express devotion through communal worship.
Ma Durga is the epitome of bravery. With Her extraordinary features, She gives the message of never giving up at any life stage. She encourages us to be bold in terms of actions and proactive in approach. With this spirit, a group of IC residents, who proudly call themselves ‘The Early Birds Walkers Club’, put up a grand Mata ka ‘Jhande wala Durbar’ in a short span of four days.
A date was chosen, and auspicious timings decided. The venue finalized, necessary permissions from the local authority were procured. Digital invites were designed and circulated.
Chaat from Bengali Market had the crowds flocking to the counters to savour pani puri, dahi Bhalla, papri chaat, and piping hot aloo Tikki. As if this was not enough, there was pure desi ghee prasad from Punjabi Bagh of puri aloo, pakoras, kaddu sabzi, and makhane ke kheer.
A Navratri menu was also organized to ensure people who were fasting attended. Ample seating and mist fans ensured the devotees were comfortable; cool light showers the previous day were like blessings from the skies.
Another successful event well organized which brought the community together!
