The beautiful feeling of watching a caterpillar turn into a colourful butterfly is amazing and the feeling changes to pride if the butterfly spreads its wings to reach new horizons. Sonika and Ram Bengani (1604, Marvel Homes) are fortunate to have experienced this phenomenon. Their daughter Ayushi Bengani has made us all very proud.
Ayushi was the co-commander of 51 NCC student cadet Pilani band in the parade organized on the 75th Republic Day this year. Later, she was awarded with the NCC Army junior wing rank of Sergeant (SGT). Ayushi, a student of class 9, can play more than 70 patriotic and martial tunes with trumpets. Ayushi and the band of Birla Balika Vidyalaya practice regularly and rigorously throughout the year.
An exceptional student and scholar batch holder, Ayushi was a student of DPS till class seven but went on to study in BBVP, Pilani two years back. Her parents said that the teachers and trainers there are very dedicated. A very rigorous practice for the band goes on all year round. The dedication of the trainers reflects in the unprecedented respect that the students have for them. Sonika, Ayushi’s mother shared that once when Ayushi had come home, her eyes glistened with tears thinking about the kind of hard work their trainer puts in.
There is another interesting incident that Ayushi’s mother shares. Once the family was passing through a road with a sign that said ‘No Honking’ and the icon on it was that of a trumpet with a cross over it. Ayushi is so passionate and sensitive when it comes to this particular piece of instrument, that she felt a little sad seeing the sign. She said the icon/picture should have been of a horn and not of a trumpet.
Ayushi is also fond of reading and likes to read books of her choice whenever she gets time. Ayushi is lucky to have a very caring and supportive family. We wish Ayushi success in all her future endeavours.
