At Samvada, we keep highlighting the huge piling of Malba, old articles, discarded furniture etc lying all over the colony in the service lanes. More than 70% service lanes are full of garbage and are not cleaned for many days or sometimes months. There is wild grass, plants grown all over these lanes to create water logging and mosquitoes in the colony. The MCD vehicles only pick and chose few lanes every day to clear just a small part of garbage which adds to the filth all over the lanes. The MCD staff has working hours from 7 AM till 4 PM but never seen them working after 10 AM. If they will not clear these lanes then who will be??
Looking at this major issue which was reported by all the blocks of the colony, the RWA’s coordinated with the MCD councillor and planned to clear maximum lanes in a timebound program which was also communicated to the residents to get their service lanes cleaned. It was quite surprising to know that even after 10 days of this campaign, while many lanes were looking cleaned, there were more where the malba was again thrown by the residents, their servants and builders after the repair work was going on in any house. As this malba is not brought from any other colony, it is requested to all the residents once again to ensure no garbage etc is thrown in the back lanes and if found guilty, the MCD is now ready with heavy challans for the culprits who are trying to nullify the efforts of councillor, MLA and RWA’s.
