Mahagun Morpheus EC organized the much awaited Diwali Fair and a cultural program on 22 October, just on the Diwali weekend. Like every year, the run up to this event was full of anticipation and excitement. The whole society was abuzz with activities and preparations. The society compound, boundary, entrance and trees were decorated with colorful lights. The residents also brought out their creative streak by adorning their balconies with lights, lamps and kandeels. MM was was shining like a star.
Various stalls of games like Lucky Seven, KBC, bottle flip etc. were put up by children as well as clothing and trinket stalls were put up in the lawns. Residents were seen enjoying games and shopping, dressed in their festive attire. Snacks and Chaat counter was open for all with mouth-watering items consisting of golgappas, tikki, dahi-papdi and matara kulcha. These were relished by all residents and their guests.
Cultural program, hosted by Ruchika Jain, kicked off around 8.30 pm with chants of Gayatri Mantra and a Ganesh Bhajan with support from Sonu Rathore. The host engaged the audience with a Ramayana themed quiz round and distributed chocolates for the correct answers. The informative quiz was followed by a couple dance game and prizes were distributed for the Best Couple dance.
Thereafter the residents were invited to walk the ramp and flaunt their festive attire in the fashion show. The groups were divided based on the color of their dresses. Everyone enjoyed a lot. Three lucky winners won prizes in Lucky Draw.
Mr. Bari, the EC President thanked everyone for coming and adding to the festivities of the program. The night went on with a round of Tambola, antakshari and everyone shaking a leg on popular beats by the DJ. Everyone was in a festive mood, very happy to meet-greet and give Deepawali wishes to their neighbours and friends. Overall a cheerful start to Diwali, which was appreciated by everybody.
