Maha Shivratri, one of the most auspicious Hindu festival, was celebrated on 18 February, Saturday 2023, throughout the country. This festival com memorates Lord Shiva and Maa parvati’s marriage; which relates various cosmic events too.
From the early morning devotees visited temple for worship Lord Shiva and Maa Parvati by chanting mantras and prayers. Residents gathered in large numbers for offering Puja and pouring water to Lord Shiva – a ceremony named as ‘Jalabhishek‘ prepared with bhog. The devotees observe fasts and wish for Lord Shiva’s blessings.
On this occasion, ‘havan ‘was organized in front of the Mandir and female devotees assembled for Bhajan and devotional songs also. After performing all rituals, Prasad was distributed among the residents.
