The spirited ladies of Lotus Boulevard came together to celebrate International Women’s Day early morning on Saturday, 8 March, with boundless energy, camaraderie, and undiluted joy! The event, organised by the cultural committee, comprising the society’s enthusiastic residents, aimed to rekindle childhood memories while promoting fitness, joy, and togetherness among women of all age groups.
The day kicked off at 8 AM with a warmup Zumba session led by none than our very own fitness guru and Zumba specialist, Shweta Kanojia and her troupe. Women in the age groups of 20 to 70 joined her in the warmup.
This was followed by the vibrant Walkathon, where women of all ages strutted confidently, showcasing their commitment to health and unity.
Internationally certified Mind Coach, Gita Nath conducted a short session on mindfulness and happiness where the ladies were made to experience the real essence and purpose in life. Some group activities made the teams scratch their heads collectively to happily find the solution.
Continuing with the prime agenda of the day: to make women let their hair down and have fun, a series of fun races and competitive games were arranged, bringing out the playful inner child buried deep down in their present roles and responsibilities.
The highlight of the event was a collection of light-hearted and humorous games, designed to bring smiles and laughter, reinforcing the message that women deserve moments of pure joy and celebration.
“This celebration was all about delving deep inside and being our true selves without the need for social validation, embracing our strength, forging new friendships, and taking a break to enjoy life, just like we did in our childhood days”, said one of the event organisers.
Generous sponsors such as State Bank of India, CD Lush, Clinic Derma tech Meenal Jain’s Style Lounge coupons and Nanihal Spices honoured women in their own unique ways with gifts and coupons.
A Food Corner was set up so that all could enjoy hot delicious snacks such as ‘matar ki kachauri and alu’, to idli dosa, noodles, chaat and doughnuts so that women would be relieved of their kitchen responsibilities at least on that day!
This celebration at Lotus Boulevard was more than just an event; it was a testament to the power of unity, self-care, and appreciation for the incredible women who form the heart of this community. With glowing smiles and renewed spirits, the ladies of Lotus Boulevard truly made the day one to remember for posterity!
