Last month after years of futile attempts to get their Pot-Holed Colony Roads Repaired / Relayed and not seeing any action by the civic agencies’ vis the pot holes on many roads, RVKC decided to become Atmanirbhar. Team RVKC did some R&D and discovered a piecemeal method of repairing the potholes using Society Funds and manpower.
Initially a few dry pot holes were identified to conduct a Trial of the Bitumen Ready-Mix for patchwork repairs, the results of which were encouraging. Most of the Roads have since been repaired, much to the delight of long-suffering residents, who deserve better Civic Facilities befitting a B Category Colony.
It is a known fact that MCD is Cash Strapped and is perpetually short of funds, but the latest budget has allocated Rupees Ten Crore to encourage Councilors to attend House Meetings and a Hundred Times increase in the mayor’s discretionary Fund. A year on citizens are expecting the change MCD and the promises made during election to start showing in Ground Reality.
