Along pending demand of various blocks of G K 1,for the dense recarpeting of certain roads, which were not done in the last 10-12 years, was finally sanctioned & inaugurated by Minister Saurabh Bhardwaj on the evening of Sunday, 8th Oct.23. Total project cost as reported is around 1.3 crores.
The longest stretch is a 650 meters long road in S Block, starting from S-2 to S 126.This road is full of pot holes & dangerous craters.
The project was hanging fire for the last three years, 1st due to Covid & then due to the tussle between MCD & Delhi Govt. Finally, the funds have been released by Shri Saurabh Bhardwaj, Minister Delhi Govt., looking after many departments, including the ministry of urban development.
The other roads are in M & B block of G.K.1
S Block Road was inaugurated in the presence of SBWS office bearers & many residents, by conducting a Pooja by Shiv Mandir Pandit Ji.Nariyal breaking ceremony was done & sweets were distributed.
It is indicated that work will start in a few days & shall be done at night to minimize any traffic issues.
