Lohri in Sector A, Pockets B&C

Lohri was celebrated on 13 January with traditional fervour and gaiety at the Park adjacent to the Shri Shiv Shakti Mandir in Sector A, Pocket B, Vasant Kunj where the Vasant Kunj residents gathered around the bonfire to offer prayers, sang traditional folk songs, and dance. As they threw sesame seeds, jaggery, and ground nuts into the fire, they sought blessings for prosperity and a good harvest. The celebrations were accompanied by the beats of the dhol and the residents danced with gay abandon. Let us all pray that this Lohri is a harbinger of the plentiful harvest of the crops and spreads brotherhood amongst the people.
