Lohri was celebrated in Panchshila Club with traditional dhol and Bhangra. A bonfire was created where members gathered around it and exchanged til, gur sweets. Lohri marks the end of winter and the arrival of longer days. The bonfire is a symbol of warmth and prosperity and traditionally people would gather around it and offer prayers and gratitude for the harvest. However, as we hold on to our cultural roots, we observe these festivals and the Club has been instrumental in ensuring that we celebrate all our festivals with joyous spirit. The Dhol and bhangra troupe organized was entertaining and resonated with people of all ages and background. The food, the music, club decorated in yellow, members in colourful beautiful attire –all ingredients of a wonderful celebratory evening.
