Come the month of January, and the entire atmosphere is filled with festivities beginning from bringing in the new year, celebrating ‘Lohri’, hearts swelled with pride for
the ‘Republic Day and Beating the Retreat’, enjoying holidays and long weekends… yeah!!
After an absolute enchanting celebration to bring in the New Year 2024, the Club made all arrangements to celebrate ‘Lohri’ with its members and their friends/relatives by lighting bonfires, eating festive food and dancing bhangra to the tunes of dhol. Singing and dancing formed an intrinsic part of the celebrations. Members came wearing their brightest clothes and danced the bhangra non-stop to the beat of the dhols.
A huge bonfire was set up in the open area and was lit after sunset, when members, friends, relatives present donning traditional attires circled around it offering prayers to the Almighty for blessings in abundance and prosperity.
The management of the Club was overwhelmed to greet more than 200 members with their friends and relatives who made merry till late, despite the freezing temperatures. That only means that the hard work put in by the management, especially Mr. Datta (President) and Abhayjeet Sharma (Secretary) was much appreciated.
