Living in a Lockdown of Pollution: Life in Delhi-NCR

Pollution has become a daily struggle for people living in Delhi-NCR. Construction is a major contributor, but even when it stops, the toxic air doesn’t go away. For many families, it feels like we’re still in lockdown—not because of a virus, but because of the air we breathe.

Kids who want to play outside are stuck indoors because of the poor air quality. Running around and playing, which should be a part of every childhood, has become unsafe. The elderly have it even worse. Many are already dealing with health problems, and the polluted air only makes things harder for them. Doctor visits and medicines are now routine for many seniors in the area.

To cope, most families have turned to air purifiers at home, but this is far from a real solution. It’s a constant reminder that clean air, something so basic, is now a luxury. Staying inside feels like being under another lockdown, while stepping out is a risk to health.

As a community, we can take small steps to help the situation. Planting more trees in our neighborhoods is a simple but powerful way to improve air quality. Trees naturally clean the air and make the environment healthier for everyone. If we all work together and make this a habit, we can create greener spaces for ourselves and future generations.

The pollution crisis in Delhi-NCR isn’t just about the environment anymore—it’s about our health and our lives. It’s time to take action, both as individuals and as a community, to make the air safer for everyone

This is becoming every year problem during winters.
In spite of all the efforts even by the courts and administration there is no respite.
There is no substitute for the good health and no one should be deprived of it.
We all need to find a permanent solution for this menace.
