Residents Give Gifts & Sweets To 147 Staff Members
As the festival of lights descended upon us, like every year, Malibu-ites extended their generosity towards those who toil hard everyday, to make our surroundings livable for us. The maintenance staff of Malibu Towne was showered with love & warmth by our residents, in the form of gifts & sweets, to light up their Diwali as well.
Ever since the RWA made it’s first appeal for funds for Diwali gifts 4 years ago, the residents have never disappointed. This year too, as soon as the appeal was made, the residents opened their hearts & wallets, and funds started rolling in. The RWA exceeded it’s target within two days.
So, on the 11th November, a day before Diwali, the gift distribution ceremony took place at the PKD Park. One Hundred Forty Seven staff members received their ‘token of thanks’ from residents, in the form of fine-quality woolen blankets & a box of mithai.
The true meaning and message of Diwali is achieved only when we light up not just homes, but lives too.
But it wasn’t just the humans who were the happy recipients of Diwali gifts. The animal-lovers of the colony also went on a fund-raising drive to buy bori beds for the community dogs, to make winters bearable for them.
Needless to say, they weren’t disappointed either, and managed to raise desired funds for the noble task.
Here are the glimpses of the recipients enjoying their comfy seats.
