A musical evening in Sector-92
The residents of Sector-92 were mesmerized by the flute performance of our current RWA President, Dr. Muktesh Chander (IPS) Retd, who is an avid flutist. A Musical Evening was organized on Saturday, 24 February, at 6.30 pm in the first floor hall of the Community Centre, Sector-92. The invitation circulated began with the following beautiful line –
Life is like a Flute. It may have many holes and emptiness;
But: If you work on it carefully, it can play Magical Melodies.
Dr. Chander is a self-taught individual whose passion for music can be easily felt in his performance. The event was organised by RWA Sector 92, with overwhelming participation of the residents and guests. The Community Centre was well lit for the occasion; the stage was decorated aesthetically with flowers and fairy lights.
The evening began with light snacks and refreshments, which were enjoyed by all with hot piping tea.
Dr. Chander explained the different sizes of flutes, their use in playing different kinds of music. The information was so well balanced with the performance that the audience loved every part of it.
The old school music is the best we have, which is so relevant today, the melodies and the beauty is so real. The same were played by Dr. Chander so effortlessly that the audiences were transported to that era of golden music with – Unsay mili nazar to mere hosh ur gaye…; O mehbooba tere dil ke paas…; Chura liya hai tum nay…; Rasik balma… to name a few, and many more classic songs were played with depth and grace.
The old songs’ lyrics were so on everyone’s mind that one could not resist the urge to sing along when the music was being played on flute. The saying, “The family that sings together, stays together” was very much seen here, as everyone so keenly enjoyed and created memories in the process.
It was a well-organized event making everyone happy and wanting the evening to continue with more soul-drenching music.
