Loud drum beats were heard from a house in S Block past 10 PM on 22nd November`23 and the noise carried on for about half an hour. It emerged that there was a wedding in that house and playing drums was part of the wedding celebrations. When a neighbor, an ailing senior citizen, objected to the loud noise at that unearthly hour, the people present in the house got into an argument with him and justified the cacophony on the pretext that marriages take place just once and neighbours should cooperate instead of complaining. Not just this, a young girl started speaking very rudely while another person began blurting random sections of various laws that empowered him to disturb the peace and quiet of the neighbourhood. Piqued by this unreasonable attitude of the concerned family, the neighbor called up the police who promptly responded by sending a patrol car and got the mayhem stopped. Residents must consider the convenience of their neighbours while engaging in such activities so as to foster peaceful and harmonious coexistence of people in the colony.
