Le Bleus bite the dust! Fifa World Cup

When I think of mass excitement last year, only one thing comes to mind – FIFA world cup! The craze and pure adrenaline was visible not only in Football fans but even those who don’t necessarily follow the game.

One such group of fans were found in Carlton, who could be heard cheering at every goal and expressing frustration at every goal missed. Keeping this in mind, CECA decided to broadcast the semi finals and finals on the big screen in Carlton 4 and Carlton 1 lawns.

The semi final between Croatia and Morocco was hosted in Carlton 4 and Argentina vs France was hosted in Carlton 1. The ambience was set, chill evenings were warmed up with a bon fire and to feed the empty stomach food from Sikkim House was arranged.

Whilst the semi final was an exciting match. Morocco won the match against an extremely competitive Croatia, it was the final that stole the show. With this being the last world cup for Messi, the Argentinian spirit was focused on winning the Trophy for their beloved team mate, whilst Le Blues (France) , equally had some of the strong players (Mbappe) ensuring they give Argentina a run for their money. The first half sure was exciting and the echoes of cheers could be heard all the way till Carlton 4,however it was the second half which got fans on their toes, with Mbappe bringing the score to an equal 3!

Whilst the footballers made the game interesting, the residents were seen soaked in the spirit of the game enjoying the bon fire and momos, hurling “ ohh, aahh and ohh so close”, every time a score was in sight.

However, it was Messi who finally swept the Trophy leaving the French fans disappointed. However, in match there always must be a winner and whilst Argentina won the cup it was Mbappe who won hearts of his fans all over the world.
