In a circular sent out by the LBAoA, residents were informed that the BOM is working towards taking legal action and filing a petition in court towards making the LB a stray dog-free society. Residents on Boulevard were asked to come forward and share any documents/pictures and videos of the dog bite incidents that they have witnessed in the society.
Residents were also invited to become petitioners to the writ petition that will be filed by the AoA. Conversations with legal experts and a representing lawyer are in the works and the AoA is expected to file a petition in the Allahabad Court soon.
In the meantime, a notification was received from the Noida Authority directing all AoA/RWA’s on guidelines of dog management. The NA has appointed an agency that will sterilise all stray dogs in every sector and the responsibility of maintaining the record will be of the AoA. The NA will also provide land for creating dog shelters for strays. The AoA is required to identify and create feeding spots for stray dogs and put up a board that says “Dog Feeding Spot”. Dog feeders cannot feed dogs anywhere besides these designated spots.
Guidelines regarding registrations for pet dogs and the responsibility of pet dog owners are also mentioned along with a list of fines in case these regulations are not adhered to. To read the complete notification scan the QR code below!
