Lotus Boulevard is one of the largest and most vibrant societies in Noida. After experiencing the working of three AOAs, the residents voted for the fourth AOA on Sunday, 11 June.
Elaborate arrangements were made for proper and smooth conducting of the election. There were 13 candidates in the fray. Following nine candidates have been elected as members for the forthcoming AOA –
- Rajesh Rasstogi
- Dhananjaya Ketkar
- Prabhakar Bhardwaj
- Seema Narang
- Shilpa Seksaria
- Daan Singh
- Sanjeev Sharma
- Gaurav Aggarwal
- Amit Gandotra
All the previous LBAOAs have many achievements in their fold. After the takeover from the builder, there was a long due, urgent need to repair the infrastructure. Maintaining 30 towers & their premises is a herculean task. Thus, the AOA election becomes more important. Till date, the residents’ voting weightage was calculated based on the covered area of their flat. Each flat has its own voting weightage depending on its area. In the earlier three elections, weightage of each flat was calculated & applied flatwise, which was reflected in the overall counting of the votes.
However, this time, as per the observer’s instruction, all the flats have been divided into nine categories by giving a fixed weightage to each category wherein the actual weightage of some flats has increased/ decreased.
Although all the previous AOAs have many remarkable achievements to their credit, the residents have voted for a new AOA in all the previous elections.
The voter’s eligibility criteria were – (1) only the first owner could cast her/ his vote & (2) there must be positive cam balance in the voter’s account. Much work was done to prepare the voter list.
The WhatsApp University was on the forefront. All the candidates posted their agenda. A few informative posts educated the residents and enlisted the issues on which residents should vote. There were also posts giving gist of all the candidates. A few recommended who were the best nine candidates to vote for!
The election schedule was as under –
- Date of filing nomination – 12 May till 2 PM
- Date for withdrawing nomination – 15 May, 10 AM to 12 PM
- Scrutiny of nominations – 15 May, 5 PM
- Declaration of final eligible candidate list – 15 May
- Canvassing – 26 May to 8 June, 8 AM to 8 PM
- Voting – 11 June, 9 AM to 2 PM
- Counting – 11 June, 3 to 5 PM
- Results declaration – 11 June, 6:15 PM
Team Samvada wishes the new AOA success in its endeavours!
