As part of their Durga Puja festivities, CNPC organised a unique singing competi-tion, NCR Kishore NCR Asha, on 9th October 2024, at Sector 78, Noida. This brought together talented singers from across the Delhi NCR region. The event celebrated the iconic voices of legendary Bollywood playback singers Kishore Kumar and Asha Bhosle, showcasing local talent and offering music enthusiasts a platform to honour these musical giants.
Following a rigorous evaluation by an expert panel of judges, ten male contestants were selected to compete in the NCR Kishore Competition, while ten female contestants were chosen for the NCR Asha Competition, out of a pool of 150 participants. They competed to be crowned as NCR Kishore and NCR Asha, performing timeless classics that once echoed through Indian cinema and continue to be beloved by audiences.
Shivani Sharma from Cherry County, Greater Noida West, won the NCR Asha Competition, while Tarun Singh from Rajouri Garden, New Delhi, won the NCR Kishore Competition. They were crowned with awards in a glittering ceremony. Their efforts brought in an enthusiastic audience and nurtured a sense of community and nostalgia for music lovers. Other participants were awarded honorary certificates.
The event not only added a layer of joy to the Durga Puja celebrations but also highlighted the evergreen appeal of great music. This annual event, reprising iconic Bollywood singing legends from yesteryears, is poised to become a cherished tradition in the Delhi-NCR cultural calendar, uniting generations through a shared passion for ageless Bollywood music.
