This time, we had invited a team of renowned nutritionist Dr. Shikha Sharma. Her organization ‘One Health” works on the concept of wellness & preventive healthcare, as we all know that “Prevention is better than care”. There were three specialists, Bhawna Sharma, a senior Management Professional, Dr. Aman Chhabra, an Ayurvedic practitioner, & Kanika Laskar Kaushik, a psychologist. All three of them gave us a detailed account of our body type & healthcare, preventive as well as curative. Bhawna stressed upon combining Ayurveda Nutrition with Modern Nutrition. As such the company has successfully designed Body Constitution based nutrition diet plans. Kanika Laskar Kaushik, being a psychologist, explained the causes, types and effects of stress. Depression, Anxiety and OCD. Further there are two types of stress namely eustress and chronic stress. Eustress motivates us to perform and achieve our goals, whereas distress stops us from doing anything. She explained how to manage our stress by deep breathing, Pranayama and meditation. Kanika also taught ladies tapping techniques for distressing the body and initiating calmness. Dr. Aman, an Ayurveda expert, stressed upon the need to know your body type and the regime and diet specified for kapha, vata and pitta body types. He explained how to analyze your body type by some types of behavior patterns. He also helped us to know our body type & what diet to take for a particular type i.e vata, pitta and kapha. To sum up he mentioned, “when the diet is wrong, medicine is of no use, when the diet is right, medicine is not required”. Ladies also asked questions to help themselves to lead a healthy life.
