Ladies Association Celebrates Teej

This year Teej was celebrated with lot of fun and enthusiasm. Though Punjabis don’t celebrate Teejusually but we all ladies don’t leave an opportunity to celebrate all the festivals. A group of senior ladies started practising for a medley, a month in advance under our own member and choreographer Rashmi‘s expertise. It was more fun and entertaining one and a half months in advance. Mehndi walis were invited a day prior to the day of Teej to make it more festive and enthusiastic. Neelam Mangal arranged for tea and snacks for the ladies while they waited.

On the day of Teej day, the TT Hall of Holiday Club wore a festive colourful look. Thanks to Shashi Taneja and her creative daughter in law who did the decorations complementary. The ladies arrived in symbolic greens which was also the colour code of the day. A true Saawan(Monsoon) look illuminated the Hall. Shikha Rai, our Councillor and a member of the Ladies Association who was kind enough to grace the occasion.

The President opened the meet and handed over the Mike to Achla Mahna & Rashmi, as I myself was participating in the cultural programme hereafter. We started with a Shiv Parvati bhajan by Shobha Aggarwal, follwed by sangeet for 15 minutes. We then performed a yoga dance followed by a beautiful medley by Barkha Mangal. Then followed a series of dances, which were thoroughly enjoyed by the 110 ladies present. A scrumptious lunch and a desert thereafter added to the charm and glory of the festival. We are extremely thankful to Holiday Club’s management and staff who always cooperate with us to make it joyous. Also, we are thankful to Dinesh Arora ji, who sends a photographer on all the occasions to click pictures on the occasion to make it more memorable.
