Know Your DG Operations

We’ve a dedicated 33KV line from the substation at Sector 129. Most of the nearby sectors have 11KV. Both these infrastructures come from different power stations/ transmission lines. So, when you see power in the nearby apartments, that doesn’t mean we also have power. Our DG operations are completely automated. The relevant DG comes up within 10-15 seconds of power failure, depending on the load. To avoid frequent restarts of lifts/ other equipment, the DG shuts down after 10 minutes of stable power. At times, we end up thinking that DG is run deliberately to make money. However, the society loses money to the tune of INR 3 per unit on DG production cost.
