We know teachers make the world a better place. Although Ranjana Dean has taught for over three decades, she has never stopped learning. After her retirement as Headmistress, Delhi Public School, Mathura Road earlier this year, Ranjana Dean is keen to get back to the profession of teaching in her quest to contribute to the development of the society. As per Ranjana Dean, teaching is not a one way street. A teacher learns from her students as much as she teaches them. With so much evolution taking place in the field of education, there is never a dull moment for the teachers. She firmly believes that a good teacher can inspire hope, ignite imagination and instill the love of learning.
A resident of S Block, GK-2 for over 25 years, Ranjana Dean spent the initial years of her life in Allahabad, which is her hometown. After completing her education from there, she briefly taught at Shimla before moving to Delhi after her marriage. Although the Covid induced lockdown was a phase that one would love to forget, it did have a silver lining too as the online teaching has made Ranjana Dean tech savvy, which is something she truly feels happy about. Ranjana Dean loves to follow her other pursuits like Baking and Gardening too. She maintains a private garden with over 500 plants on the terrace of her house besides keeping a small kitchen garden there as well.
Ranjana Dean cherishes her family as her pillar of strength. Her husband runs his own business of Medical Devices and they have two sons. Their elder son works for an American company and is based in the US, while the younger one is a consultant in Change Management and is settled in Canada. We wish Ranjana Dean all the very best for her future endeavors.
