Pledges organ donation on 50th birthday

This time I would like to share an interesting initiative of our colony member Meeta Nagpal.  She is truly a Green Park Extension resident as she is born and married here. Her parents J.K. Jain and Kokila Jain participate actively in colony activities. She has done her schooling from Air Force Bal Bharti and  is a DU topper. She is married to Manoj Nagpal a builder by profession . She has 2 sons who are also in the family business of Real Estate Development and this year she has been blessed with a lovely daughter in law.

She is a promoter of upcoming performing artistes, an avid social worker, author, entrepreneur and Kathak dancer. She took the pledge to donate her organs on her 50th birthday this year. What other occasion would have been better than this to announce this wonderful initiative of giving life and betterment to others?

This pledge of organ donation on her birthday was made an integral part of her landmark celebration. She took it to her birthday with the thought of spreading more awareness as the event was covered by the media and her initiative was applauded by everyone. As a result, 200 people vowed and filed for organ donation.

Meeta has already written and staged a musical show and published a book named “The Magic Man ‘’ to promote the pledging of organ donation, and its importance and for creating awareness about organ donation in all age groups, especially young teens.

She firmly believes that organ donation is a true act of ‘Giving’. It is the only time when we give and expect absolutely nothing in return.

Anyone willing to volunteer for this noble cause can easily follow the process of organ donation, which is quite simple. You can download the form from the website of the Organ Retrieval Banking Organization (ORBO) at www.orbo.org. Fill up the form and send the same to ORBO. You will receive an organ donor card bearing registration number on it and it’s done.
