Dermatologist & Cosmetologist Dr. Manisha Chopra is a firm believer of this adage as she retraces her professional journey that transformed her from being just a skin doctor to a proficient Dermatologist cum Cosmetologist with specialization in treatment of skin, hair, nail and pigmentation related problems. Dr. Chopra witnessed several defining moments in this journey that spanned over two decades. She acknowledges the immense societal change that took place in all these years that has seen people open up and drop their inhibitions about seeking remedy for their concerns about their looks and appearance. For some, beauty may only be skin-deep but so be it.
Hailing from Jalandhar, Dr Manisha Chopra completed her MBBS in 1999 from Dayanand Medical College Ludhiana and has been a resident of GK-2 ever since her marriage in 2005, barring a brief interlude of two years that she spent in Australia shortly after shifting to Delhi. She established her Dermatology Clinic in GK-2 in 2008 and is a visiting Doctor at a few hospitals in South Delhi. She has kept herself abreast with the changes that have taken place in the field of skin care and cosmetology over the years and has acquired expertise in treatment of various issues using advanced medical techniques in this domain.
She laments the fact that the fast paced present day lifestyle pushes people towards eating high calorie food without doing much physical activity. This tends to cause an adverse impact on the physical aspects of their persona and raises the demand for cosmetic treatment by them. She feels people should be more proactive in taking good care of their looks by adopting the right lifestyle. While prevention might be better than cure, people must seek that cure from qualified professionals rather than self-treating themselves or going to unqualified self-styled professionals who can cause more harm than good.
Dr. Manisha Chopra is married to a Pediatrician who she met while studying medicine. They have a school going daughter around whom their world revolves. Dr. Chopra finds herself fortunate to be able to strike the right work life balance since the very beginning of her career that helped her to be with her daughter during her growing up years. We hope Dr. Manisha Chopra continues to make rapid strides in the furtherance of her career by serving the evolving needs of her patients in her diverse field.
