In support of the “Khushiyon ka recycle” drive steered by Goonj, Wellington and Exclusive Floors, both, organized a collection camp on their respective premises.
In Wellington, the camp was held on 8th April. Residents were requested to contribute items like clothing (winter and summer), shoes, unused notebooks, old textbooks, stationery, toys, sports items, old school uniform, lunch boxes, water bottles, storybooks, school bags etc., for this noble cause. Residents contributed generously to that.
It started from 10 am to 2 pm. It was an excellent initiative by Goonj as it strives to add value to lives. If anyone missed the drive that day and wishes to contribute in the future, they may contact Ms Kanchan, resident of 1B-104.
A similar collection camp was then organized in Exclusive Floors and was volunteered by Nitu Gupta (an IT professional who got introduced to Goonj through her friends) and Saloni Sharma.
Both the volunteers left no stone unturned to make the collection camp a successful event. It was worth appreciating that a lot of residents from all age groups (right from elderly people to small kids) contributed generously towards the cause – Khushiyoan Ka Recycle.
The icing on the cake was the display of upcycled products which were made out of donated materials. The collection camp was indeed very fruitful as a lot of materials got collected in three hours on a single day. We look forward to many more collection camps soon. Let the Goonj of Charity echo everywhere!
