It has been rightly said by Friedrich Froebel that Play is the highest expression of human development in childhood, for it alone is the free expression of what is in a child’s soul.
Keeping in mind the significance of sports and games in life, a Sports Day was celebrated on 4th June at Exclusive Floors, D6 Park with pomp and show. The purpose of the event was to make children realize the importance of sports in everyday life.
There were events for all age groups such as 3 – 4 yrs, 5 – 8 yrs and 9 – 12yrs. Children participated in various races such as mini race, lemon and spoon race, sack race, three-legged race and dog and the bone race. It was great fun to watch children participating in the events and their parents cheering them up. The arrangements for refreshments were also made for the participants. The winners and runners-up were given prizes along with the certificates. Moreover, participation certificates were given to all the participants for their efforts.
Apart from the children, the parents also exhibited great enthusiasm and indulged in sack race and played the dog and bone game which certainly increased the fun quotient of the event.
The initiative to conduct the event was taken by Vimal Narang (Sports In charge) who put in sincere efforts to organize the event immaculately. The event was wholeheartedly supported by the RWA members such as Usha Chauhan, Anil Goswami, S.C Sharma and Vinayak Mishra. The office staff also helped in providing basic amenities to conduct the games smoothly.
To wrap up, Sports Day was a grand success as it gave a golden opportunity to the children to participate actively in the fun-filled games. The event also brought together the residents and spread the message of unity, brotherhood and harmony among them.
