Summers are here! We know that familiar sense of foreboding – as the days become longer and the barometer rises, as the spring beauties in our lawns wither and dry, as the leaves become crinkled, and as the numerous insects come back to life and become bit of pests.
If you have to walk, do so early morning; then come back home, take it easy. If you can afford to, try not stepping out unless necessary, black-out curtains activated, ACs cranked up, water your plants at least once, if not twice a day, keep your pets in a cool place too!
The appealing things are cool drinks, summer fruits, light food, and lots of curd/ buttermilk (sorry vegans, don’t know how you substitute these natural coolants and probiotics).
As much as we try to keep ourselves hydrated, we need to look at all our support staff, the helps, the guards, the housekeepers, the delivery persons that come to our doorstep in this scorching heat – offering them a glass of cool water, some juice is perhaps a great way to appreciate their hard work!
For us as well, a cool drink that brings out the summer flavours is always a wonderful thing. And we have the right recipe that you can try at home!
Mango Mint Mojito
Mix 50 ml mango juice/ pulp and 100 ml soda/ Sprite together separately. In any glass that you fancy, add 5-6 crushed mint leaves, fill it with 4-5 ice cubes, pour the liquid mix, and top it up with a couple of mint leaves.
Decorate with a lemon slice and salt at the edges, and serve right away, to get refreshed in no time!
