Poets Receive Loud Applause And Cheers From The Audience

There is a saying that the pen of a poet can do what a sword cannot. This was seen in the Kavi Sammelan organised on 2nd October at Gangotri Hall by Noida Sahitya Parishad (earlier called Nai Pahal). Vibhuti Narain Rai, former DGP and former VC, was the chief guest.

The program began two hours late at 7:30pm & had nearly 70 people in attendance.

The compere and budding poet Vinod Pandey could give only 10 minutes to each poet, given that the program was to end at 9 PM. In the Kavi Sammelan, poets like Kumar Raghav, Neha, Shailendra Shail, Saurabh Tyagi, and Vinay Vinamra received loud applause and cheers from the audience. Ijaz Maqbool, the Urdu poet who resides in our sector, could not attend the program.

Neha ji sang her famous poem on the theme of the environment, and the visually challenged Shailendra ji’s poem that compared the Ganges to a mother got thunderous claps.

However, as the time came to 8:30 pm, some 15-20 people left the hall. (This may be because most of the audience was seniors).

Saurabh Tyagi presented his poem on Gandhiji, an apt tribute to the Father of the Nation. The last poet, Vinay Vinamra, set the stage on fire and had the audience on their feet cheering and clapping.

The program ended with the poetess Rama Sharma ji being honoured with a trophy and flowers by the organisers. RWCS President, Govind Sharma, in his thank-you speech, said that he will continue to extend support to such literary programs.
