Ram Vihar ladies celebrated Karwa Chauth on Wednesday, November 1. They celebrated with lot of fervour and enthusiasm. The ladies were dressed in their best as they were all geared up to make it a memorable day.
This is a most loved festival especially in North India and also in other states where we find North Indians residing.
It was a sight to see ladies with mehndi on their hands and sindoor on their hair – parting line (mang) or as a dot on the forehead.
Puja and the thali exchange ritual was performed at 4.00 pm, in the society lawn. At least a group of 40 – 50 ladies were present. After the puja prasad was distributed amongst the helpers and the workers of the society. Soon after the prasad distribution everyone dispersed to their respective homes.
A lot of crowd, especially couples were seen around the park waiting to get a glimpse of the long awaited moon. At about 9.00 pm the moon was visible. They prayed for the well being and long life of their husbands and ultimately broke their fast.
